Section 70F of chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding, after line 11, the following paragraph:- Notwithstanding the above, if a healthcare provider, first responder, police officer, fire official, prison guard, or other public officer in the line of duty comes in contact with the blood or bodily fluid of a patient or person who may be infected, such tests may be performed and the result made known to the person who may have been infected despite the inability or refusal of the patient or person to give written consent.
