Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, Felicia O’Connor, the surviving spouse of John Bernard O’Connor, a retired state police officer, who is currently receiving a surviving spouse retirement allowance, shall be entitled to a recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance. The recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance shall be equal to that which she would have received had John Bernard O’Connor been allowed to elect the Option C retirement allowance prior to his death.
The amount of the recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance in section 1 shall apply retroactively to the date of death of John Bernard O’Connor.
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, Felicia O’Connor, the surviving spouse of John Bernard O’Connor, a retired state police officer, who is currently receiving a surviving spouse retirement allowance, shall be entitled to a recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance.
