Section 94 of chapter 93 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following 2 paragraphs:- A contract or agreement for the sale of propane for residential heating shall be in writing and contain all the terms and conditions for delivery and shall include an itemized list of the amount of fees, charges, surcharges or penalties. No contract or agreement for the sale of propane for residential heating between a dealer and retail consumer shall have an automatic renewal clause unless the consumer has the right to terminate any future automatic renewal through written notice given not less than 30 days prior to the date the automatic renewal takes effect. A propane gas dealer who operates in the commonwealth shall make the daily delivery price of propane for residential heating customers available in a clear and conspicuous manner. If the propane gas dealer operates a website for commonwealth customers, the daily delivery price shall be clearly and conspicuously displayed on the dealer’s website.
Section 1 shall apply to contracts or agreements for the sale of propane, or any renewals thereof, entered into on or after January 1, 2025.
This act shall take effect on January 1, 2025.
