Section 3 of Chapter 71 of the Acts of 1996, as most recently amended by chapter 468 of the acts of 2002, is hereby amended by striking the second paragraph.
Paragraph (h) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting the following sentence at the end of the fourth paragraph:- Members in service of a retirement system eligible for such creditable service under this paragraph shall make application for such creditable service and complete all makeup payments while a member in service and before the date any retirement allowance becomes effective.
