▸SECTION 1
Section 7AA of chapter 90, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the second sentence of paragraph 3 and replacing it with the following sentence:-
An operator of a motor vehicle who violates the provisions of this section shall be subject to a fine of not more than one hundred dollars; provided, however, that said one hundred dollar fine shall not apply to an operator of a motor vehicle licensed as a taxi cab not equipped with a child passenger restraint device.

Section 13A of chapter 90, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the sentence "Any operator of a motor vehicle shall be subject to an additional fine of twenty-five dollars for each person under the age of sixteen and no younger than twelve who is a passenger in said motor vehicle and not wearing a safety belt." and replacing it with the following sentence:-
Any operator of a motor vehicle shall be subject to an additional fine of one hundred dollars for each person under the age of sixteen who is a passenger in said motor vehicle and not wearing a safety belt.
▸SECTION 3
The registrar, as defined in Section 56 of chapter 6C shall approve driver education information relative to the health and safety risks of unsecured children in vehicles for publication in the Registry of Motor Vehicles' Driver’s Manual.
